I need career change

Things are not going very well at my current job, I think I might be getting laid off any day now. So I was considering getting some online education, not sure it it's for me but the benefits are great. I can study any time I want, and tuition is quite a bit cheaper too compared to normal colleges. I'm still researching it, but I might just do that. What's your guy's take on that? good idea or not?
